SOWING: Start seeds indoors in late winter through early spring in pots, trays or flats. Cover seed with 1/16 inch soil. Plant seeds in sterilized, fertile soil. Water with warm water. Provide plenty of light for young seedlings.
THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: When seedlings are about 2 inches tall, thin or individually pot indoor seedlings 3 inches apart. Plant outdoors in late spring after all danger of frost has passed and weather has warmed considerably.
SPACING: Leave 2 to 3 feet between plants. One to two weeks in the home at 70°F. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.

Ed’s Special Advice: Fruit can be dried by hanging vines in dry sunny areas. Avoid overwatering plants when fruit is near maturity, if drying is desired. Delicious sliced in salads or simmered in sauces. Plant tomatoes in full sun, with fairly rich well drained soil. Avoid spraying foliage when watering.
