SOWING: Seed directly into the vegetable garden as soon as soil is workable in early spring through mid summer. Cover seed with 1/8 inch fine soil well pressed down.
SPACING: Rows can be 12 to 18 inches apart or closer if limited for space. Can be planted wide rows 2 to 3 inches apart in all directions.
THINNING: When plants are about 2 to 4 inches tall thin to 2 inches apart.
GERMINATION: 2 weeks in temperatures of 60 degrees. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed’s Special Advice: Plant as you would other carrots in enriched well drained soil in a sunny location. Plants are vigorous and easy to grow. A real conversation piece in the vegetable garden. Rich in vitamins and minerals.
