Beans – Roma II, Bush, Romano Beans

$2.49

Wide, light green pods grow at the top of upright bush plants for easy picking. Plants will send out a runner but remain compact in growth overall. Roma II’s flavorful pods are slow to develop fiber and seeds, giving its pods better texture for longer than other romano beans. Approximately 59 days to maturity.

Approximately 60 seeds per packet.

Availability: 69 in stock

THINNING: Thin to 4 to 6 inches apart when about 4 inches tall.

GERMINATION: 1 to 2 weeks depending upon soil and weather conditions. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.

Ed’s Special Advice: Grows best in a sunny location with rich, well-drained soil. For continuous supply of fresh beans, sow successive crops at 1 to 2 week intervals through early summer. Snip ends from beans prior to cooking. Its distinctive romano flavor can be enjoyed in any green bean recipe.

SEED SAVING: Let bean pods dry completely on the vine. Remove from pods and store in a cool, dry place.
