Sweet Corn – Kandy Korn

$2.79

Super high natural sugar content. Delicious table corn, also ideal for canning and freezing. Holds its flavor longer than most corns. 14 to 16 rows of kernels. Approximately 90 days to maturity.

Availability: 63 in stock

SOWING: Plant in full sun outdoors in late spring when soil and weather have warmed and all danger of frost and cool weather has passed. Sow seeds 1 inch deep.

SPACING: Sow seeds 4 to 6 inches apart. Space rows 2 to 3 feet apart depending upon available space.

THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: When established seedlings are2 to 3 inches tall, thin or transplant them 8 to 12 inches apart.

GERMINATION: Usually 7 to 10 days. Keep seedbed moderately moist during germination.

Ed’s Special Advice: The husks and stalks are purple. Outstanding large ear variety. Corn has best flavor when ears are light to medium yellow. To conserve space and for best pollination, plant in blocks made up of short rows, thinned to 8 to 12 inches apart in all directions. Fertilize and cultivate soil prior to planting. Kandy Korn retains its excellent sweetness and eating quality even 48 hours after harvesting.
