SOWING: Directly into the garden in early spring as soon as the soil is workable. For continued harvest make successive plantings at 3 week intervals until mid spring. Sow seeds 2 inches apart in rows. Cover with 1 inch of soil.
SPACING: Leave 2 to 2 1/2 feet between rows; slightly closer if limited for space.
GERMINATION: Completely dependent upon outdoor temperatures and soil warmth. Usually 1 to 2 weeks.
Ed’s Special Advice: When possible, plant rows in a north-south direction for best sun exposure and good air circulation. Keep moist throughout the growing period. Provide string or trellis support when vines are 3-6 inches tall.
SEED SAVING: Allow pods to dry completely before removing them from the plant. Store seeds in cool, dry place.

I’ve been planting them for years in Alaska and they always produce lots of full sweet pea pods.
