SOWING: Sow outdoors after danger of frost has passed, or start seeds indoors in individual peat pots or containers 6 to 8 weeks before setting out. Cover with 1/16 inch of fine soil, firmed down. Can be started in the fall in areas with mild winters.
THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: Thin seedlings to 10 inches apart when 4 inches high. Transplant individually potted seedlings carefully after danger of frost has passed.
GERMINATION: 2 to 3 weeks at 60° Fahrenheit. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.

Ed’s Special Advice: Plant in well-drained soil in a sunny location and keep fairly moist by soaking the soil. For prolonged blooming, remove faded flowers. As plants get taller some staking may be required.
