Dutch White Clover

$2.99

Combines well with grass in lawns. Its flowers are loved by bees, helping to encourage a pollinator-friendly habitat. As a legume, it helps build soil fertility and drought resistance. An established mixed grass and clover lawn does not require much, if any, application of fertilizer, compared to all-grass lawns.

Availability: 65 in stock

SOWING AND COVERAGE: Add 1 ounce of clover to 1 pound of grass seed for new lawns. Scatter clover seeds throughout an existing lawn at the rate of 1 ounce for every 500 to 1000 square feet. Clover seed is best sown in Spring, or again in late summer through early fall.

GERMINATION: 5 to 7 days. Keep planting area moderately moist during germination.

Ed’s Special Advice: Clover was once a common sight in lawns all across the country. Recently it has been regaining popularity as an eco-friendly choice. It is best to overseed clover soon after a mowing. Mix seeds with a carrier such as potting mix for best coverage. Clover will spread by runners once established. Do not use chemicals such as weed and feed if you want to grow clover in your yard.
