Ed’s Special Advice: Begin harvesting when roots are about the diameter of a nickel for best flavor and texture. For best results grow carrots in a sunny location, with rich, light soil and regular thorough watering. We recommend fertilizing and cultivation to a depth of 3 to 4 inches prior to planting.
SEED SAVING: Carrots flower and seed in their second year of growth. After flowering, allow greens to brown, then cut from plant and hang to completely dry, up to two weeks. Strip seeds from flower heads and store in a sealed container in a cool, dry place.
