Ed’s Special Advice: Do not use fresh manure where you plant carrots. Plant in loose soil with good drainage. Plant at 2 or 3 week intervals for continual harvest Planting can continue until mid-July. Harvest when “little finger” size for best flavor.
SEED SAVING: Carrots flower and seed in their second year of growth. After flowering, allow greens to brown, then cut from plant and hang to completely dry, up to two weeks. Strip seeds from flower heads and store in a sealed container in a cool, dry place.
