SOWING: Sow indoors 8 weeks before last frost or seed directly outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Cover seeds with 1/16 inch of fine soil.
THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: Separate and transplant when seedlings are about 2 inches high indoors. Do not plant outdoors until all danger of frost has passed.
SPACING: Space seedling plants approximately 9 to 12 inches a part.
GERMINATION: 2 to 3 weeks at 70 degrees. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed’s Special Advice: Plant in sunny location with well drained soil. For drying, cut flowers just before they are fully open. Remove leaves from stems. Hang upside down in cool, well ventilated basement or garage until dry. Flowers in midsummer, water only when completely dry.
