SOWING: Sow seeds directly outdoors after danger of frost has passed. For earlier blossoms sow seeds indoors 4 to 6 weeks before last frost. Cover seeds with 1/16 inch fine soil.
THINNING & TRANSPLANTING: When seedlings are about 2 inches tall thin or transplant to about 12 inches apart.
GERMINATION: 1 to 3 weeks depending upon variety. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed’s Special Advice: Select a partially shaded location with well drained soil. Cultivate soil and rake smooth. Scatter seeds over planting area, mix with sand or other soil for greater coverage. Lightly rake seed in to a depth of 1/16 inch. Firm soil down and water carefully. Water when necessary and feed every 4 to 6 weeks. Remove old flowers to stimulate new blossoms.
