Bright red, five petaled flowers 1 1/2 inches across are borne on erect stems with slender green leaves. Ideal when planted en masse in a fairly low border. It is also used in naturalized wildflower or flowering meadow settings.

SOWING: Sow seed in place early to late spring. Barely cover seed with fine soil.

SPACING & THINNING: When young seedlings are about 2 inches high, carefully thin to about 4 to 8 inches apart. Flax does not transplant well.

GERMINATION: Approximately 10 to 20 days. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
