SOWING: Sow seeds indoors in early spring in flats or individual peat pots. Barely cover seed with 1/16 inch fine soil. Water carefully with warm water and provide plenty of bright light.

TRANSPLANTING: Transplant indoor started seedling outdoors after all danger of frost has passed and weather has warmed considerably.

SPACING: Leave about 2 feet between plants in rows 3 feet apart or more.

GERMINATION: 2 weeks indoors at 70°. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.

Ed’s Special Advice: Grow as you would tomatoes in sunny location with fairly rich well-drained soil. Ground cherry is slow to develop but produces abundantly later in season. A unique addition to your vegetable garden. Provide caging or trellis support or allow to sprawl along ground on clean dry mulch.

SEED SAVING: Remove seeds from ripe tomato and soak in water in warm spot for three days or until seeds sink, to remove gel coating. Once cleaned, allow seeds to completely dry and store in cool, dry place.
