SOWING: Simply scatter seeds outdoors from early spring. Lightly cover seeds with 1/8 inch fine soil. Seeds can also be started in fall in areas with mild winters.
THINNING: Thin to 10 to 12 inches apart when seedlings are 2 to 3 inches high.
GERMINATION: 5 to 10 days, keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed’s Special Advice: This is one of the most overlooked annuals. It is not fussy about soil, nor does it require any special care. Should be included in every garden because of its ease of care and colorful display. Water when dry.
