SOWING: Sow indoors in early spring. Or seeds can be started after danger of severe frost has passed. Cover seeds with only 1/8 inch of fine soil.
THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: When seedlings are 2 inches high thin to 12 to 18 inches apart. Transplant thinned plants.
GERMINATION: Approximately 20 days, depending upon weather. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed’s Special Advice: This hardy flower thrives in well drained soil, under rather adverse weather conditions. An ideal flower to use in shrub and tree beds. Should be used in every garden because of its ease of care and colorful flower display. Stake tall plants. Keep flowers cut to extend bloom period.
