SOWING: Sow seeds directly outdoors after danger of frost has passed into pots or flower beds where plant will grow. Can be sown indoors 3 to 4 weeks before last frost. Cover seed with 1/2 inch fine soil well firmed down.
THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: Thin or transplant indoor started seedlings after danger of frost has passed to eight inches apart.
GERMINATION: One to two weeks depending upon soil and weather conditions. Keep moderately moist during germination.
Ed’s Special Advice: Plant in full sun in fertile, well drained soil. Fertilize monthly and water regularly in containers. Children and adults alike will enjoy this novel addition to the flower garden. Seed can be dried and eaten like regular sunflowers.
