SOWING: Sow seeds directly outdoors after danger of frost has passed through early summer. Can also be sown early indoors in individual peat pots or containers. Cover seed with 1/4 inch fine soil.
THINNING & TRANSPLANTING: Thin or transplant to 12 inches apart when plants are 2 to 3 inches tall.
GERMINATION: 7 to 10 days. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed’s Special Advice: Cosmos grows best in full sun in ordinary garden soil. Very easy to grow, may re-sow itself. Fairly drought resistant, water only when soil is dry for an extended period. Cut newly opened blooms and place immediately in cool water for longer lasting cut flowers.
