SOWING: Start seeds indoors in mid-spring for planting outside in late spring (6 weeks inside). Alternatively, plant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. Cover seeds with 1/8-inch fine soil.
THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: When 2 to 3 inches high, thin to 12 to 15 inches apart. Transplant thinned plants.
GERMINATION: Approximately 8 to 14 days in 70 degree temperatures. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed’s Special Advice: Likes full sun or part sun and shade. Provide well-drained soil and keep moderately moist throughout growing season. Excellent in groups or mass plantings. Harvest cut flowers and remove any spent flowers to help ensure blooming throughout the summer. Rotate planting site yearly to prevent plant diseases.
