SOWING: Start seeds indoors in early spring. Sow in flats, pots or trays. Do not cover seeds with soil or medium. Firm seed in soil with back of hand. Water with warm water to aid germination. Can also be sown directly outdoors soon after danger of frost has passed.
TRANSPLANTING: Plant seedlings outdoors after all danger of frost. Space plants 4 to 6 inches apart.
GERMINATION: Approximately 2 to 3 weeks in 70 degree temperature.
Ed’s Special Advice: Plant in mostly sunny location where summers are cool. Protection from afternoon sun is preferred where weather is hotter. Grows best in rich well-drained soil. Keep soil moderately moist and feed after first blooming period. If blooming ceases, lightly shear back plants to encourage new flowers.
