SOWING: Sow seeds directly outdoors in spring after danger of serious frost has passed. Cover seeds with 1/8 inch of fine soil. Can also be sown in early fall for blooms the following year.
THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: When seedlings are 2 to 3 inches tall thin or transplant to 8 to 10 inches apart.
GERMINATION: 5 to 10 days at 60 degrees. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed’s Special Advice: Grows best in a mostly sunny location in fairly rich well-drained soil. After blooming ceases, shear back plants lightly for possible later blooming. Plants often reseed themselves and can spread throughout the garden if not contained. Water plants well when dry.
