SOWING: Start seeds indoors in early spring up to 8 to 10 weeks before last frost. Sow in flats, pots or trays. Do not cover seeds with soil or medium. Firm seed in soil with back of hand. Water with warm water to aid germination.
TRANSPLANTING: Plant seedlings outdoors after all danger of frost. Space plants 6 to 8 inches apart.
GERMINATION: Approximately 2 to 3 weeks in 70 degree F temperature. Keep soil moderately moist by misting during germination.
Ed’s Special Advice: Seeds can also be sown directly into the garden after all danger of frost. Plant in full sun in cool regions. Flowers last best in part sun where weather gets hot in summertime. Keep soil moderately moist and feed after first blooming period. If blooming ceases lightly shear back plant to encourage new flowers.
