SOWING: Plants may bloom the first year if started in early spring. Sow seeds in mid to late summer for blooms the following year. Cover seed with 1/16 inch fine soil.
THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: Carefully thin or transplant seedlings when about 2 inches high to 12 to 18 inches apart.
GERMINATION: One to two weeks at room temperature. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed’s Special Advice: Can be planted in a mostly sunny spot in cooler climates and shadier areas where hot. Plants thrive in moist, well drained acidic soil. Ideal in natural settings. Cut spikes back after flowering for possible later blooms.
PLANT LEAVES ARE POISONOUS IF EATEN.
