SUNFLOWER Autumn Beauty
Annual - One Season Plant - Height 5 to 6 feet
A stunning mixture of bright warm colored flowers. The strong stemmed blooms grow on tall branching plants producing an abundance of cut flowers for casual bouquets. Use as a backdrop for shorter plantings, as a temporary hedge or for color in the vegetable garden.
Special Directions for Short Season Climates

THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: Carefully thin or transplant young seedlings to about a foot apart in all directions within the planting area.
GERMINATION: 10 to 15 days. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed's Special Advice
Plant sunflowers in a sunny location in somewhat fertile well drained soil. Keep soil weed free and moderately moist while plants are young. Once established plants are somewhat drought and heat tolerant. Will flower mid-summer through fall. Birds are attracted to the seeds.
