It has a wide range of brilliant colors of mostly double 1 inch flowers. Excellent as a ground cover and rockery plant as well as hanging baskets and edgings. Special Directions for Short Season Climates SOWING: Do not cover seeds as light aids germination. Start indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost or sow seeds directly outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: Thin or transplant seedlings 6 to 8 inches apart. GERMINATION: A week to 10 days at 70 F. Keep soil moderately moist during germination. Ed's Special Advice Water infrequently as Portulaca does not like excessively moist soil.
