Special Directions for Short Season Climates SOWING: Plant seed outdoors after all danger of frost has passed or start seeds indoors for earlier blooming 6 to 8 weeks before last frost. Seed can also be sown in summer for blooms the following year. Cultivate soil and cover with 1/16 inch fine soil firmed down. THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: When plants are 2 inches tall thin or transplant 12 to 18 inches apart. GERMINATION: 2 to 3 weeks at 65 F. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.
