HOLLYHOCK Chaters Double Mixture Perennial-Permanent Plant - Height 5 feet Old time favorite in the flower garden. Colorful double blossoms on tall stems will flower from mid-summer to early fall. Enjoy these easy to grow perennials year after year against walls and fences or as a background planting to shorter flowers. Will bloom the second year from seed. Special Directions for Short Season Climates SOWING: Plant directly outdoors in permanent location soon after all danger of frost has passed. Can also be planted in summer for blooms the following year. THINNING AND SPACING: When plant are about 3 inches tall thin to 18 inches apart. GERMINATION: Two to three weeks at 65 F. Keep soil moderately moist during germination. Ed's Special Advice A permanent sunny location with well drained soil kept fairly moist is ideal. Feed in the spring and cut back well established plants after blooming. Rust can sometimes be a problem, destroy infected leaves and spray with fungicide if necessary.
