Herb Mix

Annuals and Perennials - Height: 12 to 24 inches

A mixture of popular culinary herbs suitable for growing in beds, borders, planters or in the vegetable or flower garden. Plant some near the kitchen door or in a sunny kitchen window for easy access while cooking your favorite dishes. Includes Basil, Chives, Parsley, Thyme and others depending on availability.

Special Directions for Short Season Climates

SOWING: Plant seeds outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Cover seeds with 1/8 inch of fine soil. Can also be started indoors in individual peat pots or containers 3 to 4 weeks before last frost.

SPACING AND TRANSPLANTING: Thin or transplant seedlings 8 to 12 inches apart when 2 to 3 inches tall. Plants can be grown closer in containers or if limited for space.

GERMINATION: Most varieties will germinate in 1 to 2 weeks. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.

Ed's Special Advice

Plant in a sunny location in well drained fertile garden soil. Harvest plants sparingly as they grow by pinching back main shoots lightly. Herbs can also be dried for later use. For best flavor, harvest just as plants come into bloom. Herbs can be transplanted to other areas or spaced out to allow for optimum growth. Water and fertilize as necessary, more often when grown in raised beds or containers.
