CARROT Scarlet Nantes Sweet and tender with cylindrical shape and blunt-tip with bright orange-red color throughout. Very popular variety of carrot for eating fresh or cooked. Approx. 68 days till maturity Special Directions for Short Season Climates SOWING: Seed directly into the vegetable garden as soon as soil is workable. Cover seeds with 1/8 inch fine soil. THINNING: When plants are 2to 4 inches tall thin to 2 inches apart. SPACING: Rows can be spaced 12 to 18 inches apart or space 2 to 4 inches apart in all directions in a wide row. GERMINATION: 2 weeks in temperatures of 60 degrees. Ed's Special Advice Plant carrots at 2 to 3 week intervals for continuous harvest. Planting can continue until mid July for fall and winter harvest. Carrots are a rich source of many vitamins and minerals.
