CLARKIA Elegans Double Choice Mixture
Annual - One Season Plant - Height 18 to 24 inches
Easy to grow prolific flowering annual. Flowers are double and semi double in colors of pink, red, purple and white, on graceful tall stems. Makes a good long lasting cut flower. Clarkia is quick growing, an excellent annual for bedding or mass planting in an informal scatter garden.
Special Directions for Short Season Climates
SOWING: Seed directly outdoors throughout the spring, barely cover seed with 1/8". inch fine soil. Can be sown in the fall in mild winter areas.
THINNING AND SPACING: When seedlings are 2 to 3 inches tall thin to 8 to 10 inches apart. Clarkia does not transplant well.
GERMINATION: 5 to 10 days, keep soil moderately moist during germination.
Ed's Special Advice
This annual grows and flowers best when planted in a mostly sunny spot in cool climates. Plants thrive in well drained soil and require limited care. Water when dry until flowering commences. Shear back plants halfway when flowering has ceased for possible later blooming.
